Ahmad Faraz was a Pakistani Urdu poet known for his romantic ghazals and political poetry. He was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz by Pakistan and the Hilal-e-Imtiaz. His romantic ghazals are among the most sung compositions in South Asian music.
