Faiz Ahmed Faiz was a Pakistani poet and one of the most celebrated poets of the Urdu language. A leading member of the Progressive Writers' Movement, he blended romantic poetry with political activism. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature and received the Lenin Peace Prize.
